Subject: Combine yield accuracy.

NW Iowa. / SW Arizona
I was visiting with a well established farmer recently and we got onto the subject of yield monitors. He made a comment he was happy with his combine monitor being off 8%. This kind of surprised me I told him I’m disappointed if mine is off more then 1% & it’s usually much less then that.

I’m not sure when I got my first monitor but probably close to 20 years anyway. They were all Ag Leaders, 2000, PF3000, Integra and the latest 1200. I’ve always done the fall calibration each season so I’m sure this has helped with their accuracy. I’m always amazed how accurate it is every year.

This farmer I’m talking about has a JD combine with the JD factory monitor and to be honest I forgot to ask him if he has it calibrated every year.

Just curious what is your happy threshold for combine accuracy?
