I just spoke to my local JD dealer about this the other day. I was trying to hook a pull type sprayer to a JD tractor with a GS2 screen. The dealer said as of today I would still need the Raven 660 to control the belt. The GS2 would tell the 660 what the rate should be and then the Raven would change the rate. So short answer yes the GS2 will do VR but you will need to hook it to a 660.
