When dealing with this stuff, you need every detail.

A "valve" will not cut it.  We (or somebody) needs to know exactly what kind of valve it is.  Manual or electric and what brand?

Some require a speed sensor for the belt, does it have a speed sensor on the belt anywhere?

The rate controller will be a brain box either in cab or on spreader.
