north-central Indiana west of Fulton | I have never driven a 4020 and am not a JD fan having grown up with red equipment. In 1966 we were looking to get our first diesel, and I remember looking at a 4020 in the show room of the Deere dealer.....I would have been 10 at the time. I noticed how small the 3 point arms looked compared to the 806 we ended up getting. It just seemed like more of a chore tractor than a heavy work tractor. Having said that.....the 4020 must have been and still is a great tractor , and a very capable to get the work done then and now. I notice nearly every long time JD equipment farm has a 4020 around, but I can't think of anyone near us with an 806 still in use. I wish we still had our 806, but it's been gone for years, and you rarely see a good one available . So as much as it pains me....my hat is off to the 4020. |
