Yes it physically shrinks. When I fill my top dryer with 1250 bu. 20% corn I will drop about 5% less in volume and weight when batch is done. Another way of putting it is if it takes 12 semi loads of wet to fill a bin when its dried you will not get 12 full semi loads out of there when going to town.
