north-central Indiana west of Fulton | If you are working the ground much, you could back off the wire clips that hold the unit springs tight. Also , raise the colters to only turn but not penatrate . If no till , run colters just cutting a little and the double disk openers will cut enough to get seed where you want it. In a nut shell, I never do any adjustment on the gauge wheels, and rarely change the clips on the down pressure springs. I only lift or lower colters on any crop....beans , wheat (both no till), or alfalfa. Have not had issues. Years ago a guy told me the drill is very forgiving.....always remembered that .....he was right. |
