Northern Nebraska | We have had it in cedar county for 4 straight years. Only expanding its range. My theory is it is a native pest for a wild plant that somehow switched hosts. We have so many gall midge that one could have crossed over. Goldenrod has gall midges. Hessian fly is a gall midge.
But I can also see your theory on it being around but had been kept in check by something like a predetor. | |
