Was always told a rain on the straw was good for it--- makes it more brittle
Directly out of combine tends to be higher in moisture, especially if there may be some grass in it.
Mine lays a few days before baling---- todays job!!!!
Rained on straw makes better bedding as the rain washes the wax off so its more absorbant.
Baling oats straw. ???
