Just doing some math to see if numbers work.

Assume 2 mph.

2 miles / hour * 5280 feet / mile / 3600 seconds per hour = 3 feet per second.

If I remember correctly speed is input at 57 hz per mph.

So. 114 pulses every 3 feet.

36/114 should be about 0.3 inches per pulse.

This should be good enough for your precision need.

I know the word Arduino scares you but just hear me out.

If right now you are pushing a button to trip the blade in the cab, this is literally a evening project for a high schooler and around $50.

That is why John Deere can sell it so economically.
