Southern Farmer - 7/26/2018 16:24 There are a lot of discussions about corporal punishment for kids at home and at school. From an early age, I was well aware of the consequences of not following the rules both at home and at school. In fact, there were even a few times that one of the neighbors busted my butt. I learned early on that when that happened, do not tell Daddy about it because that would insure another licking. At the same time, if some adult did us wrong, you could bet that he would be there to back you up. Was listening to this today and it sure struck home, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IupV6YlXHwc Yup . . . . those guys (Joey & Rory) are some of the best country singers of modern times . . . . . RIP Joey. A little physical discipline never hurt anyone . . . . . Corporal punishment took on a totally different meaning in the 80's. If I got some discipline from someone other then a parent, I sure didn't want them to find out - I had my share of disciple and it was all disserved, except for one time in school, that I got called out for swearing and it wasn't me. Gee . . . . I lived and learned from that also. |
