Subject: Sandblasting a rusty trailer

NE ND
Well I screwed up. I bought a detach NGB trailer on a gov auction sight unseen other than their pictures. I've been hunting for one for a while and there seem to be very few available under 20K. I probably paid 5-10K too much for this one but I just couldn't part with 35-40K to move my excavator 5-10 times per year.

It is more rusty than I hoped but it is a 1990 model so I can't expect perfect either. The front 25% of the trailer has some heavy rust areas. The neck area is fine. The rear 75% isn't horrible other than the suspension components.

Anyone have experience sandblasting? Can a guy rent one for 2-3 days and do some of this stuff himself? There are 2-3 small areas that are pretty tough but shouldn't affect the structure.

Or would you forget about it and just use the trailer?
