Subject: RE: Trading Rain?

Bon Homme County, South Dakota
This is insane how many guys are hurting for rain. I honestly feel for you. I am so much on the other extreme. Already soaked with water standing with another 2 or 3 on the way. Raining currently. I'm one of the lucky few that got most the crop planted, so I know it could be much worse. This will likely be a year to discover what "too wet" does to yields. Coops are backed up 10 working days of fields to spray I heard. We have our own 4940 with a tender setup, and still have 100 acres of corn post to do. Haven't even started on soys yet.

I'm not so delusional that the traders are ever going to trade "too much rain". They are going to look at the actual precip maps and trade that, regardless of what hit the ground. Just looking at radar last night, Nebraska sure looks like it got a large shot. I'm shocked the market is green at all. I firmly believe the market will always trade the concept that rain makes grain, until proven otherwise.
