Fruita CO | Pistols were carried, but not so much in the fancy gunslinger rigs like the movies. I have a Luger & a .38 Super 1911 that were my Dad's & Uncle's, both have wear from being carried in a chaps pocket. This was in the 40's & 50's, not that far from the Old West "here"...
But yeah, they didn't shoot it out with any rustlers, just porcupines & other such varmints...
