I would prefer the wheat after oats but you don't remove the potential from scab and Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus.

Wheat after wheat is a no-no down here but have seen a couple of guys get by with it a couple of times.

If I tried it I am sure it would be a disaster but it works into that theory of diversifying your crop rotation by going two years with each crop. My soybeans gained about 20 bushels in corn after corn versus soybeans after one year of corn this year. Can't believe all that residue is pretty well gobbled up!

If I get it planted to wheat I might try a test on wheat after wheat next fall but generally it doesn't work well here and is sure not recommended. On the other hand I am on an entirely different system than most and doing things that just might allow that to work...
