Subject: RE: Gleaner A75

Jewell County KS
I ran a '04 MF 9790 for several years along with a '98 8780 and got along fine. It should be very similiar to the A75 but had a 9.0 liter QSL Cummins and I think the '08 would have the Sisu engines. Hyd. reversing rotor was nice but didn't use it to much ( wheat ,milo and beans no corn). I ran an airfoil chaffer and had done a few updates that would have made it close to the '08's. Airfoil cascade pan, fan speed kit. My biggest complaint was the cooling fan drive belt arrangement was weak and the Cummins liked fuel. Simple combines that I thought performed well for me. I had a set of the KX7 box concaves in the 9790 for the last few years and I liked how the performed. I had them set up so I did not have to switch concaves for my different crops.

I traded them both for a 560c Challenger this winter that I hope to get into some wheat this month.

I would check the transition from the feeder house to the rotor as that area is prone to wear.
