Subject: RE: crazy trial 60" rows

Northeast Missouri
Something similar to this was done in the late 40's or early 50's. I have an older booklet from Successful Farming magazine that touts "Yields Are High Where The Rows Are Wide". This actually proposed 80" rows and shows a mounted picker picking one row instead of two. And, this was done for the very same reason, that is, to allow "relay cropping", or cover crop seeding. Nothing new under the sun.
