Subject: EZ Guide 500 Antenna Questions

Central Illinois
I picked up an EZ Guide 500 (omnistar unlocked) head unit only that I am trying to put a system together from spare parts and cables I have around.

I am planning on using it only as a WAAS system (all my other systems are RTK) with a Trimble Hurricane antenna. I believe that the hurricane is equivalent to an AG15 L1 antenna.
I also have an old Novatel L1/L2 antenna that has the correct voltage (I assume it is similar to a Z+) that I plugged in and I could see it was receiving both L1 & L2 from most sats.

My questions:
1) Are there any concerns with using a Trimble Hurricane with an EZ-Guide 500?
2) If I am only using this unit for WAAS is there any advantage with the receiver picking up both L1 and L2 (accuracy, uptime, etc.)?
3) If I go to sell the unit as omnistar ready is there any concern using the Novatel L1/L2 antenna with a Trimble head unit?

Thanks for any information or suggestions you might have.
