Coles County, Illinois | If your MDU (the actual mechanical drive unit) is running 1.4.2 or 1.4.4 then 7.6.80 ECU (the black box) software will steer an 8100 just fine. Since Raven wants something like $700 for the Service Tool, I met with a Raven District Sales Rep after a Training session for their new Nozzle control product. Together and for the first time we learned how to update a MDU. The ECU updates similar to a Display. No dealer that I called had a Raven Service Tool. Ag Express in Indiana said they were considering getting one but as I was the only asking about updating a MDU they were unsure as to whether they would. Updating solved a major problem I had.
P.s. This happened in the summer of 2017 so the Service Tool availability may have changed.
