Thanks for also sharing about Secret. I once had a neighbor who was in the hog industry tell me that cattleman seem to always miss there cows but its rare for a hog guy to miss his sows.


Lol. Very true statement. I raised quite a few hogs early in my farming career. That was before the market collapse of 98'. I wouldn't say I didn't like the hogs but they certainly never developed much of an identity to me unless they had some unusual marking or something. Frankly, even the sows and the boars were only on the place for 3 years or so, if that long. It's not like cows where they may be there 10, 12, even 15 years or more. And while cows may break things, get out, rub fences down, all kinds of frustrating stuff; cows don't tend to have a destructive streak in them. A sow could destroy a ball bearing in a grease pit. If there is a way to tear it up, play with it until you break it, chew on it, anything; a hog will find it!
