I went to check the front and rear diffs and transfercase on my pickup a couple days ago, "snug" is an understatement.

Had to use a 3/8 breakerbar and an 11/16 socket on a 1/2 inch extension as a cheater to get the rear plug loose and didn't think that was going to be enough. Edit: extension was a foot long.

I wouldn't think they would use locktite on them.

Checking those oil levels must not be included in the dealer's coupon for "49 point check". Greasing must not be either.
