NW Washington | The Earthway planters work OK for large seeds like corn and beans and when you have a good quantity of seed. The are not much good for small seeds and when you are seeding just a packet of seeds like carrots or radishs. They use an inclined plate that has to dip through the seed and move it up to where is falls out by gravity. Stuff can get stuck behind the thin plastic plate too sometimes.
