Nebraska, The land of corn and cattle | Dad had a 64 2 door back in the day. Hopped up 289 in it, looked like a Thunderbolt, jacked up in the front a bit. I think he said the rocker panels were the same height as a stock Bronco. It was fast but that car and a old Ford pickup were the last F word vehicles on this place lol.
He had a friend who bought a brand new Boss 302 and wouldnt race the Fairlane in 1/4 mile, said it wouldnt even be a fair race for the Boss.
At one time Dad owned 2 of the fastest cars in the area, the Fairlane, and the 71 GTX that we still have. That GTX has 150mph speedo and it has no problems pegging it and wanting more, and its as smooth as glass at that speed. |
