It is programmed to stop pit or devices feeding it when speed drops to 95%. Then it will shut leg off and not burn off leg belt when speed drops below 90% of nominal. Programmed through a PLC, not sure if something similar can be mounted on whatever you're trying to monitor, and shut off device feeding it.
Talk to your electrician. If they give you a blank stare, get another electrician...
