Lenawee Co Michigan | You got yourself what they call a virus. I had something similar last year. If it's new enough, Norton doesn't have the antidote yet.
I'd go to Yahoo and type in the phrase you see on the pop-up. Someone else who has (had) it will bring it up in a blog, and the remedy may also be there.
The one I had did the same thing, all my Google results led to adult sites while Yahoo worked fine. Look at the pop-up closely. Mine had two mis-spelled words in it, something you would never see from Norton.
