I know several people who have used this on metal roofs and been very happy.  We're going to try it on a foam roof this week.  You can buy it at most home stores.  Pretty expensive stuff (like $80 or more per 5/gl).  Will silicon around the nails get you by for a while?  We've done that with some success also.
