| It certainly sounds like your drive is toast. I've used CD burners for years from when they first came out, and have never had a problem in burning CD's fast. About the only problem I had was in reading the CD on a different computer because I had not finalized the disk. Going from memory here but, didn't XP have a drag-to-disc feature in which you could drag files to your CD drive in Windows Explorer, then burn them to that CD? I believe it did. Does Vista have the same feature? If so, that is something else you could try. It may be possible the software you are using to burn the CD/DVD is not working right. If Vista has the drag-to-disc feature and you can burn CD's, I would say it's your CD burning software that is the problem. | |
