We had them in Reno. They leaked. Every winter, they developed a new set of leaks.

Anywhere where the temperature gets below freezing, skylights turn into a built-in leak.

If you're in the parts of AZ, SoCal, NM, TX where it very, very rarely freezes, then you can think they're a neat feature. 




I installed my roof window in the early 90's, in Iowa and have never had a leak. It is all in the quality of the flashing.
