Missouri | I've used a number of those Starfire tee harnesses from Ag Express, but even in that case, the cable still hos to go directly to the Starfire itself. I am not certain why, but I would presume the Starfire's serial port is not connected on the tractor side of that plug. If it was connected, surely there would be a better place to tap into the serial port.
That is why, although a Starfire communicates with a Greenstar display over the tractor's CANbus, it is still possible with the appropriate cabling for it to also, simultaneously, communicate with a third party's display via standard RS232 serial port communications. | |
