The guys that put a new main and some laterals for me last fall have many different ways to handle the tile. They have hydraulic tilt tile stringer carts with remote control that they can tilt and pick up rolls and also they have a brake on the carrier so that they can keep a whole roll of tile from spooling off in a mess after they have drove along the path the wheeled machine will take. They also have a spear mounted to the front of the loader bucket for moving /staging rolls of tile and unloading them from trucks. The spear does not interfere with using the loader or bucket. Then on their tile plow they have a spear that pivots side to side and also tilts down to pick up rolls of tile. Once the roll is on the carrier it can be offset to the side for feeding alongside the machine and into the boot
