Subject: 466 / 6076 failure

south texas
Both # 5 valves were broke. No block damage but head is junk. Every exhaust valve was hitting pistons. Valve lash was set at .020 like book said. 6-7 years ago oil supplier gave me hydro in engine oil drum. Got ran for a while. Good oil p right before lock up.

Besides a slipped cam what would cause all exhaust valves to tap the pistions?
My only thought is rods, crank and piston pins have just enough wear from wrong oil to cause this.

The half moon on the piston in pic is the valve tapping the piston, its about enough to hang a finger nail. The other mark is just where I wiped the carbon off doing something.
