Subject: RE: Difference between a John Deere and Wix filter (pic)

Northeast Iowa
Donaldson has a plant in Cresco, Iowa, that makes air filters for Deere, Cat, GM and others (Dept of Defense.) They used to have a filter plant in Oelwein, about an hour southeast of Cresco. That may have been the one that moved production to Mexico. They don't sell their own labeled filters direct to consumers. When you talk to equipment manufacturers, Donaldson is usually considered the gold standard for product quality. I remember talking to an engineer about a getting a replacement filter and said a friend worked at Donaldson's plant. The engineer said, "If you can get a Donaldson filter, don't even think about any other options."
