Yep it was the HC power connection at the hitch. One of the pins is partially broken giving me intermittent HC power.
I cleaned and bent the pins little and got it working. Now I need to replace that pin this winter.
Glad you found it. It might have been easier to find the problem had Ag Leader provided both power and CAN indicator LEDs. Seems like it would have been rather easy to do when these modules were designed.
