How long is the run on the submerged main?
The slope that controls the water flow is that of the water table, not the tile.
So, if you ran 0.5% for a quarter mile to a free outlet, or 1320 ft, you have about 6.6 feet of fall.
If the outlet is submerged a foot, you have 5.6 feet of effective fall, and you have to use 0.42% as your slope for accurate capacity calculations.
