We got back into a hard push for harvest and I forgot to respond to the replies for this thread. Thanks for the help everyone.

After much researching over the last 3 or 4 weeks as we have had time we settled on a Kawai ES8. It's easily portable but also comes with a furniture stand so it looks similar to a more traditional piano when you have it on the furniture stand.

It has the same sound as the high end Kawai digital pianos (good) but it has the same key feel as an upright piano as opposed to the key feel of a grand piano (not as good).

From our research Kawai currently seems to be the company that wants to make pianos that feel and sound as much like pianos as possible and doesn't focus as much on gadgets like tons of different sounds, etc.

Price was under $2,000. We nearly went for the MP11 SE which has the grand piano feel but it's a lot heavier (not as portable) and there is no furniture stand for it so it looks a little more out of place in the living room. It is also more expensive by a fair amount (nearly $3,000 by the time you add monitors and a stand which you don't have to do with the ES8).

Anyway, hope it works out for us. Thanks again!
