If you're not going to go hydro the G is a better machine.
Gear drive versus gear drive, stick with the F, the way it actuates the variable speed sheave on the mainshaft is far superior. the G has a tapered spline, and its design its literally trying to shove the pulley off the combine, and often times the pulley will come loose and ruin the mainshaft, and not only is it hard to find, but its expensive, and a person ponders if fixing a gear drive machine is worth it. The F is like a miniature version of the M and L, where its pushing on the pulley, so it never has issues coming loose.
So if you can find a G hydro, go for it, but for a gear drive, I would stick with the F. |
