| My disclaimer is that I am not in the grain business, but here in wheat country I follow it and keep an eye on the older Gleaners (F and L) because if I were to get into it that would be a good combine to start with on the small scale. For a fair condition combine that will require work, I see them bring about $2,000. For one that is "premium" condition for its age, you will see prices upwards of $10,000. The biggest issue I have noticed on them is rust. Once that galvanized steel starts to rust you're in trouble. Augers tend to be the biggest victim to rust. Other than that it's basic mechanical maintenance and repairs. Hope that helps. | |
