central nebraska | Need a little help setting up a better Wi-Fi router for our home.
Currently have a net gear nighthawk dual band Wi-Fi router. Bought it at Best Buy a few years ago and was supposed to be the fastest and best thing they had. It seems very slow sometimes YouTube videos take awhile to load even reading different online news sources load slowly. The 110v range extenders that the nighthawk came with do not work at all. When I had one plugged in I can select that Wi-Fi source for my iPad to use. When connected to it, it was slower than dialup connection was back in the day.
Kids come home and complain the inertnet is slow. I do a speed check on our internet and it’s matching what we are paying for 12Mbps.
I’m blame it on the wireless router. House has main floor and basement about 2,000sq/ft on each floor. Wi-Fi router is in the basement in the middle of the house.
Any suggestions on a better wireless router or setup.
I’m not up to speed on how the whole dsl modem/WiFi router works. If I don’t have enough info please ask and I’ll try to answer. I just want something simple that works. | |
