First 12 mbs unfortunately isn’t a lot of speed for multiple users using common internet applications.

New routers like the eero and google WiFi are mesh network and different from the traditional extenders, smarter networking that gets automated updates. They are also supposed to help manage multiple connected devices and allocate bandwidth.

Eero comes in a 3 pack and supposedly easy to install. I think eero and google WiFi have a main router and then multiple remotes can be purchased for a coverag of larger homes. One thing you might want to by is a network bridge if you have multiple lan cables connected to router since I believe both google and eero just has one lan port for use.
