Subject: Pumkin advice for next year

Central California
First year growing pumpkins, only about a 1/3 of an acre. We've been selling on the corner and done well so far. But I'd like to get some advice for the next year.

Gourd beetles, was able to control the weeds and aphids. But those damn gourd beetles are misery. What's the best control method without killing bees?

Grew Howden, Aladdin, Sanchez, and Lumina varieties. Sanchez are the least popular. The medium to large Howden and Aladdin are selling good, the white Lumina the most popular. So I think I'd like grow more oddball varieties. What are some of your favorite varieties? Can increase the area of the patch, so I'll be adding to what was grown this year as i have a bunch leftover seeds to plant.
