NW IL | Every day I hear about another hybrid sharing a parent....I'm calling it, they're all sisters. (Anything below in another cheaper bag? lol) I know there are a few that share lineage with other good ones.
1197 has been our best corn for 4 years in a row, and performed at or near the top in our plot every year. I hope I do not plant much the year it falls off. Yes, it will green snap. Buy some green snap and wind insurance, its a couple bucks an acre. In fairness, we have not planted other gene pools heavily to compare. First year giving Becks a try, Dekalb has been hit and miss for us. I don't think we manage well enough to make Dekalb hybrids perform.
Took out my plot yesterday.
