Thanks for that, I probably should have added one that stretched clear to the end of the growing season.  Still goes to show that some of that primo dirt can in fact go 30+ days without rainfall and still produce, so long as it starts with a full tank.

One thing that is missing from this very interesting discussion is population.  I think as we get farther north in IL with harvest, depending on planting dates, you could see some more trimming on yield especially in Central IL, but I still remain a bear when it comes to the overall picture.  I also think it will be interesting to compare the replant in the Southern half of IL to the Northern half.
