Subject: Chief Illiniwek, rainfall and big Illinois yields

Saw you asked about rainfall maps down below, but that thread got sort of strung out and I was too busy most of the day to get into it.  However, here's two different graphics.  First shows actual measured precipitation from official reporting stations for the NW district of IL from June 1-August 1.  Second is a map of precipitation for July, Bloomington is at center bottom and the Wisconsin border is at the top.  Anybody who thinks it's somehow shocking to have great yields coming from a swath of Illinois that has soils with high productivity and excellent water holding capacity, with ample moisture at the times of corn pollination and the start of pod set for soybeans, just wasn't paying any attention....

And I am fully aware there are parts of IL that didn't enjoy this and are in fact not crying wolf about subpar weather and yields.
