All that COULD happen but many times it doesn't.

While I do think those activities are good for kids it also needs to be done in moderation.

Hockey is a sport that is a big deal around here. Several parents haul their kids all over the place for practices and tournaments on the weekends. (I'm not even going into changing schools just because of hockey teams) Close tournaments are 50 miles away and some are all over the Midwest. If you told me that parents had $100,000 per kid into hockey by the time they were 18 I wouldn't doubt it and that's the cheaper leagues, and if gets to that then why bother with all of that?

They could have invested that money and done the same thing and still had their weekends and had their little hockey player in bed by with homework done 9 instead of just starting practice on a school night.
