Subject: What I have learned.....

just a tish NE of central ND
What I have learned tonight is that I turn the reel to the high side up, decide where the high spot is and heat a qaurter sized spot and as it glows, it swells. Take a flat fronted nail hammer and gentley tap the high spot down some and let it cool some, then water, and it pulls itself together, then move slowly around the pipe with the torch on the high side Maybe the top 1/3rd of the tube, heat and repeat above method., and slowly the 8 inch tube pulls together on the heated and cooled side(shrinks the tube traight). I almost amazed myself how close to good and straight I have gotten it so far. Will maybe try to perfect it when it gets light out again.
Thanks for all the help everybody!
I had ZERO success trying to shrink the sheet metal by cooling without tapping the high spot flat down first. Maybe Im doing ti wrong,I only dribbled water on it and never used any ice cubes.......so let me know what you think .
