All kidding aside, the recliner is my sanctuary. I really don't care how the house is furnished but I want just one thing my way, the recliner. As I have entered the older state of mind (and body) I find myself sleeping more (or at least better) in the recliner than in a bed. The recliner has often been a point of slight disagreement between Miss Vicki and myself. She's always been pretty tolerant of what I wanted but she always seems to want to retire it long before I do.
Two years ago I was alarmed when a delivery truck pulled up outside the house on a snowy December day. It was then she informed me that I was getting a new recliner for Christmas. Needless to say, I was distraught and after groaning and grumbling a lot, I elected to try the new blasted thing which I was sure would be the equivalent of a Chinese torture contraption. Well, she did good! I guess after all this time, she knows me. lol | |
