Go to the furniture store, pick out the ugliest chair that you know your wife will hate. Insist and plead that its the one you must have. After a half hour of her thinking about that hideous thing in her living room, move on over to the lazy boy and say, "well, if I can't have the chair I really want, maybe I could live with this one." Hopefully she will be more agreeable by then.
