Subject: How should this coffee be brewed?

East central Iowa

here's the directions

"Open: unfold the closure tabs, unroll the top and pull the bag apart. Close: squeeze out the air, roll down the bag and fold the closure tabs. Store: keep the unused coffee in a cool, dry place. To brew McCafe at home, measure 1 slightly heaping tablespoon of ground coffee for each 6 fl oz cup of cold, filtered water. Now you're ready to discover the delicious taste of McCafe.

We have BUNN coffee maker and we've always put the coffee grounds in the container with a filter then put water in the machine which then transfers the hot water in the BUNN and sprays the hot water over the grounds.  The coffee then streams out to a pot below the cup thing holding the coffee.

The instructions above with the cold water make no sense.

Or does it simply mean we filter some water from the tap and pour it in the machine like always?

One of the new coffee's we tried was ground so much that it packed together and the holder overflowed making a mess on the counter.
