Extremely rough terrain can cause problems, but it has to be a steady high frequency where the cab is moving quite a bit and the gyros can't grasp what is actually going on. Who's your dealer? I know you pry don't want a service call for something like this, but depending on who they are as far as their GPS competency, they could help out.
