I have Pinnacle Studio 12 on my old computer.  I don't use it a lot but I do use it.  I'm going to get a new computer pretty soon and would like to get a new video editor.  Pinnacle costs around $70 to $90 depending on the deal they offer periodically.

I just want to be able to edit video in different formats and save them in different qualities as well as different formats.  I do some special effects and sound  modifications but nothing too fancy.

Are there any recommendations?   I would like to be able to edit Microsoft TV files.  These files have the extension  "dvr-ms"  and Pinnacle Studio doesn't edit them.

I will be going to Windows 10 and the version of Movie Maker on my Windows 10 computer doesn't edit them either.  My old Vista computer's Movie Maker does but I know that I won't be able to move it to 10.
