How many 9 pin (serial?) cables can you plug into the back of an EZ-500 at the same time?

Subject: There are two different solutions

Sunnyvale, CA
Use cable 57351 to split the COM port or use cables 62609 and 63076 on the 19 pin connector AUX port. Either solution works with the keypad/GPS splitter cable.

The lowest cost alternative is to use cable 57351. Cable 57351 cable plugs into either the 9-pin port directly or to the 9-pin GPS/Keypad/Radar port splitter cable 62749 (right angle) or 52033 (straight). Cable 57351 allows the CMR corrections to come from the radio and also allows the port to output NMEA. To use the 57351 cable you will have to first set up your Trimble radio without the splitter, and then change to generic radio to free up the Transmit side of the port for NMEA out and set the radio port to Generic input. Both CMR input and NMEA output have to use the same baud. You cannot configure your radio at the same time you are outputting NMEA, because the radio configuraiton needs a two way connection. However, after you have configured the radio this solution works well.

The other alternative is to use cable 62609 and 63076 to access the AUX serial port on the 19 pin connector. This is a more expensive solution, however, the port configuration setup is straight forward. With this solution you can set up one baud on the COM port for CMR from the radio and use the same or different baud for the NMEA on the AUX connector.
